Equus trophy
    Equus Award trophy

The Equus Award is our own trophy achievement award celebrating the highest achievements in Theatre Arts (Theatre Company and Auditorium Staff) during the past season.

Like the Oscar, Grammy, Emmy, and Tony awards ceremonies, the Equus Awards ceremony is our own formal awards presentation, usually held on the last Friday in May at Munster Auditorium. It is a formal/semi-formal attire affair, which parents are always welcome to attend.

The Equus Awards are peer-based awards which are selected by active Theatre Company and Auditorium Staff members by ballot in each category (except Best Thespian).  The top five persons become nominees in each category and receive Outstanding Achievement Certificates. The person (or persons in the case of a tie) who receive the most votes will receive the Equus Award.

During the ceremony, the presenter (usually a previous season winner/nominee or alumni) announce each of the nominees, who then come to the stage to receive their nomination certificate. Then the Equus Award is announced and presented to the winner who makes a brief acceptance statement.

The Equus Award ceremony also includes recognition of other achievements during the season including: Varsity Letters for Theatre Company and Auditorium Staff, Full Crew Certificates, Theatre Company Certificates, Outstanding Achievement Certificates, International Thespian Society initiation and awards.

2006 EQUUS Awards will be held on Friday, May 26 at 6pm
