Registration for the 2024 Summer Theatre Camp is closed!

Camp is June 3-7 this year!

Check out the video below for a look at what fun we had last year!

The Munster Theatre Company is thrilled to once again host a theatre camp this summer for students in Northwest Indiana.  In 2024 we had students from four different school districts!

Registration runs through mid-May.

Schedule

The camp will tentatively run from June 2-6, from 9-2 each day, at the Munster Auditorium at Munster High School.  Students will be exposed to both performance and technical elements of making live theatre.  No prior experience is necessary!  Attendees must be going into grades 6-9 for the 2025-2026 school year.  First year students develop physical and vocal character-building skills using improvisational theatre.  Returning students will receive more advanced training and work on scenes.  In 2025, the advanced students will have the opportunity to work on acting and technical elements of a short play.

Camp Leaders

The camp is being run by Ray Palasz and Peggy Matanic, directors of the Munster Theatre Company and Wilbur Wright Theatre Company within the School Town of Munster.  Together with some of their top high school student leaders, the goal of the camp is to give students the opportunity to learn more about theatre.

Schedule

Each day is scheduled with activities to build each child's understanding and abilities in both performance and technical theatre.  This leads to a special showcase where every child will be featured is planned for the afternoon of June 9 on the Munster Auditorium stage.   Students will bring a sack lunch each day Monday-Thursday.  We will provide light snacks during our morning break.

Cost

The cost of the camp is $150 per person.  This year, all registration fees will be paid through our Booktix portal.  Note that you will need to also register on our Google Form so we can collect the pertinent information on our campers.

Those registered will receive a camp shirt.

Questions about the camp can be directed to Ray Palasz at rapalasz@munster.us.
